Most Office Manager ads on Seek are depressing.
They all sound exactly the same. Like nobody has ever thought about how the person reading the ad feels when they read it.
"We are seeking a dynamic Office Manager who is passionate about working in a fast-paced environment and has a proven ability to multi-task."
Nobody really talks like that. Do they?!
Maybe the person who wrote the ad they copy-pasted first wrote it in 1995?
And they never mention who you’ll be working for, the human being you’ll spend more time with each week than your own family, your new boss.
To make it even more soul-sucking, there’s always a giant bullet-point list that asks you to be:
a bookkeeper,
HR,
IT support,
operations,
payroll,
facilities manager,
executive assistant,
therapist,
and a miracle worker…
…for a salary that barely covers the rent.
So we thought we’d be more human and more honest, because we’re looking for a human, honest Office Manager to join our team.
Yes, in this role you will be busy, there’s no getting away from that.
And yes, there are multiple areas of responsibility - but - you won’t need to stay late or come in early to get it all done and you’ll have help from the Bookkeeper and Receptionist.
You’ll also have day-to-day guidance and support from our Managing Director Hank de Jonge (who’s in the video at the bottom of this ad).

What you’ll be doing day-to-day
You’ll be based at our Loganholme HQ and working alongside our MD, the Bookkeeper and Receptionist.
The wider head office team includes the Marketing Manager, Operations Manager, Strategists, Business Support Officers and Partnership Managers too.
Some days you’ll be reviewing financial reports and liaising with our external accountants, some days you’ll be coordinating something with our external IT support team, and some days you’ll be in and out of meetings.
This role combines

🎯 Financial administration and payroll oversight
🎯 Onboarding administration for new employees
🎯 IT support coordination (through our MSP)
And no, you won’t be expected to do all this alone, you’ll have support from the Receptionist, the Bookkeeper and our external Accountants - but you will be the one overseeing it all.
Our non-negotiables
Here’s what we'll be looking for in your application
👉 commercial acumen
👉 experience managing at least one other person
👉 bookkeeping or finance admin experience
👉 confidence using Xero
👉 professionalism and discretion
👉 the ability to communicate clearly and confidently
HR, office operations, onboarding, payroll, or IT coordination experience would be great, but aren’t essential.
